You’re going to college to enhance your career options…BUT your career and major plans are still a little murky.

Maybe you’re:

  • struggling to pinpoint your job-related strengths.
  • trying to figure out which of your interests are worth pursuing professionally.
  • unclear about how to actually find and choose the right major or career.
  • interested in a career or major, but don’t know how to tell if it’s the best choice.

Does this sound like you?

Would you like to overcome these obstacles so you can go to college confident and excited about the future you’re creating?

Then Join Me for The Career & Major Planning Lab

Hello, I’m Dr. Karina Dusenbury. I spent 15 years on college campuses helping students achieve their academic and professional goals.  Many students that I worked with started college without clear major and career plans, or changed their plans because they didn’t know how to find their best fits. An unclear direction often cost these students time, money, and a lot of frustration.

I wanted to help future college students avoid problems like this, so I started Maximize College. Now, I show high school students how to develop a clear understanding of their gifts and passions so that they can choose careers, a major, and a college that align with their unique needs and wants.

I offer the Career & Major Planning Lab to teach students the steps they should take to find the majors and careers that fit them best. This workshop is open to students and their parents.

During this Workshop, Students Will:

Learn the basic frameworks for making wise career and major decisions.

Practice strategies they will use in the future to research careers and majors, and ultimately identify their best matches.

Complete hands-on activities that help them begin to develop a strong understanding of their unique skills, interests, and values.

Learn how to strategically choose college courses so that they can explore options and still commit to a major early in their college career.

Discover how they can use their past academic, work, extra-curricular, and volunteer experiences to pinpoint possible career and major fits.

Discover small actions they can take once they are in college to get more value from the time and money they invest in college.
